Welcome to Fitness World Swimming

Fitness World Swimming was opened in January, 1997 with the purpose of providing a quality Learn to Swim, Aquarobics and much needed Hydrotherapy program to the people of Penrith, New South Wales, Australia.

The pool was built in the old gym area at Fitness World. Built by Finnish Pools, the pool was designed specifically for the above programs and measures 12.5m in length, 11.2 metres wide (including a wheelchair access ramp) and is 1.2m deep with a ‘wet deck’ on all four sides.

A state of the art air-conditioning system keeps the water heated to a minimum of 31° C all year round whilst at the same time keeping the pool surrounds at a comfortable temperature and humidity level.

The pool is part of the Fitness World Complex and is operated by Karen and Alan Bentley who have been involved in swimming in the region for more than 19 years. Karen’s qualifications include: Level 2 Swimming Coach, AUSTSWIM certificate, ACHPER Fitness Leader (including Aquarobics), First Aid and is a member of the Australian Swimming Coaches Association.

Fitness World Swimming employs a total of 30 staff on a casual basis. All Learn to Swim instructors are AUSTSWIM qualified whilst the Aquarobics Instructors have all completed their Aqua module of an approved Fitness Leaders course.

The Rehabilitation / Hydrotherapy program is conducted in conjunction with Penrith Physiotherapy and an organization known as Fit for Work.
